We build the joints for autonomous machines.
Sentinel Automata is a US robotics company. We make integrated servo actuators, the embedded compute that drives them, and an open standard for connecting what goes on the end of them.
Ian Daily
Ian served in the US Marine Corps from 2008 to 2012 with 7th Communication Battalion at Camp Hansen, Okinawa. In 2011 his unit supported the Fukushima recovery under Operation Tomodachi and received a Meritorious Unit Commendation for that work.
After the Marines he went to law school and became an attorney. He handles Sentinel's corporate and contract work himself.
He founded Sentinel Automata in 2026. He designed the ISAP actuator line and the toolchain that generates its parts from a single interface spec, and he writes the company's Field Notes.
Joints first. The rest follows on data.
- ActuationISAP line
Joint actuators for robot legs, manipulator arms and gimbals. ISAP-D45 and ISAP-D30 dev kits are orderable now. Production Lot 1 is reserving at $2,500 a joint.
- Joint modelsNext · on the same joint
Closed-form models of each joint’s friction, heat and wear, fitted from dyno data and run on the joint itself.
- InterfaceLater
An open standard for the mechanical, electrical and protocol connection between a robot and its accessories.

Our joints are for legs, arms and gimbals. We don't make propulsion motors for drones.
